KRUPS XP5240 Pump Espresso Coffee Maker Coffee Machine

The Krups XP5240 is an automatic espresso machine. It has automated controls for pump pressure and water temperature just like the semi-automatic machines. In addition to that, they have preset water volumes that automatically disengages the pump at the specified volume. This is most suitable for beginner to intermediate level baristas.

As a pump-driven machine, it forces water through the grinds using an internal pump. This uses a higher pressure than a steam machine and results in a better tasting cup of espresso.

This unit utilizes single-boiler w/ heat exchanger to heat water. It pumps water through a heated coiled tube (the heat exchanger), heating it up to ideal brewing temperature. This system maintains the water temperature more consistently and enables you to brew and steam milk at the same time.

For those who prefer to control the amount of foam in the coffee, this machine is also comes with a separate steam wand to manually steam the milk for espresso/latte drinks.
